My teaching fundamentals are drawn from traditional bel canto technique, including vocalizes by Vaccai and Marchesi, Lamperti's Vocal Wisdom and early Italian Songs and Arias. This time honored approach builds vocal instruments without limitation. Practical application is adapted to all styles required of my students ranging from operatic and musical theater to more popular genres including pop, jazz and folk. Emphasis is placed on integrating truthful, inner-life acting principles and musical integrity. Lessons may include music theory and sight-singing so that the student is more fluent and confident in the language of music. Held on the third Monday each month, The Studio Class is an opportunity for regular students to try out new repertoire and network with their colleagues. --I love my work and I am committed to vocal excellence demonstrated by the progress and success of my students.
