In 2001, Athena Blue's founder started working on contracts with the U.S. Navy and Marines at Patuxent Naval Air Station and Webster Field in Maryland and was a part of the team who started the initial phases of NMCI (Navy Marine Corps Intranet). NMCI is now regarded as the largest internal computer network in the world, serving more than 707,000 Sailors, Marines and civilians in 620 locations in the continental United States, Hawaii, and Japan. She also developed a Night Vision Goggles Inventory Check-In/Check-Out System for the Vision Lab at Patuxent Naval Air Station. Our Founder went on to work for Robert Half Technology on a contract-to-term position in the Telecommuncations Industry and was promoted from Computer Programmer I to Computer Programmer II to IT Project Manager in just four short years in the Orlando, Florida area. Here she developing new applications as well as new features and enhancements to existing ColdFusion and SQL Server internal business applications. These systems included a custom CRM for managing customers and their services across several states and an Escalation System for handling any customer issues with automated e-mails and scheduled task to automatically escalate tickets to the next higher up. She rebuilt the company's Dispatch System which was used to track technicians handling Trouble Tickets for customer issues. This system auto created job steps / workflows alerting departments when work needed to be done and auto scheduled items in the Tech Calendar. Our Founder began Athena Blue Solutions in 2008 as a Sole Proprietorship doing contracts for the mining industry in 2008. She developed macros to import data from spreadsheets at up to 13 mines located across the state of West Virginia and export the data into a more readable daily report. She also developed a web-based system while allow companies to see more detail with their Continuous Miners while underground.
