The International Institute for Continuing Medical Education, Inc. (IICME) was formed in 1995 and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. IICME also offers CME Category 1 credits via state-of-the-art DVD series. Content Areas Certified CME content or format and its collateral materials must promote improvements or quality in healthcare and not a specific proprietary interest of a commercial interest. Specific areas of content include, but may not be limited to, imaging science and clinical application, prevention and screening; diagnosis; patient management, and high quality clinical outcomes. Clinical practice guidelines, and practice performance measures, clinical trials, and peer-reviewed published research will be a part of the content of all CME activities. The competencies established by the American Board of Medical Specialties, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and the Institute of Medicine also provide the foundation for educational content.
