We offer an engaging, interactive record of Jasper's fascinating history. Exhibits include the history of the Indigenous & Metis people of the Athabasca Valley; the fur trade-including David Thompson, one of Canada's foremost explorers; the railway; early mountaineering- including the legend of the Silver Ice Axe & the development of tourism in JNP. Exhibits in our Showcase Gallery are changed regularly & this year we are featuring "Rocky Mountain Wild", featuring Wildlife Artwork from the Jasper area by artist Tammy Taylor, an exhibition on "Vanishing Glaciers" followed by an Art Exhibition called "Rocks Stars! An exhibition through time and space" by artist Sylvie Pinard. Help us continue to tell "Our Jasper Stories" with a donation or a membership.
Admission is by Donation, suggested donation Adults $8, Seniors/Students $7, Families $18. Children under 5 FREE.

The Discovery Centre is a non-profit organization that works to preserve the strong and rich history that southern Alberta has to offer. The Museum opened it's doors in 2010 and has been working hard to entertain and inform people about our rich history.
We provide guided tours in which our visitors may interact with and touch objects and learn about there function, the history that we share is based on farming grain elevators as well as life style of the farming community from the early 1800's up to the mid to late 1900's.
did you know that in the late 1800's it took all day to take 1 ton of wheat grain to a grain elevator, now you can take over 15 tons in a day.
