From infancy the company has been at the forefront of vacuum excavation technology specialising in safe excavation in high risk environments. Our strong engineering and fabrication capabilities has allowed us to design and manufacture our own fleet of safe and efficient vacuum excavation vehicles and associated specialised equipment. The business has developed from a small foundry to the current multi-disciplined engineering facility with the core business of Bundaberg Walkers Engineering Ltd being the design and manufacture of equipment for the sugar industry. At present metal casting only constitutes about 10% of the business. Presently machining and medium to heavy fabrication are the principal functions carried out in the workshops. Diverse practical experience enables Bundaberg Walkers to provide services and products to more than just the sugar industry. General engineering applications, power generation, and the mining industry are also serviced by Bundaberg Walkers.

VVA engineering is a privately owned steel fabrication and hydraulic services business situated in Gympie Queensland, that supplies steel products and services to the manufacturing, building, food, mining and construction industry throughout Queensland. VVA engineering employs skilled tradespeople and applies high level quality control procedures to all work ensuring excellence in workmanship from beginning to end. Zemek Engineering, which has operated since 1975, services mining companies and heavy industry throughout Queensland and NSW. In addition to the workshop at Mackay Harbour, Zemek recently opened a workshop at Lochinvar in NSW. The company provides high quality repair and refurbishment of mining equipment and provides a range of new products which use local designs, and are cast or manufactured in Queensland. New products include links, spreaders, equalisers, bushes, pins, dump blocks, shovel parts, shackles and sockets. Zemek distributes MI 29 electric mirrors which are used on mine sites. Zemek won the 2012 Queensland Safe Work Awards for the best workplace health and safety practice in a small business and later won the 2013 national award.
