Hosome Gingerbread first opened in the early 70s and was located in Mornington Austin, Melbourne as it was then known was and still is today a family ran business. Present owners the Ho Family, took over when Ivor Austin the original owner retired in 2006. Ivor was well known on the Peninsula due to the fact that his Family had owned a bakery in Rosebud for many years.He had worked in the bakery from the age of 14,so had plenty of experience in his field. While on a trip to America sourcing parts for his model T Ford he noticed Gingerbread in the shops. Realising it was a good product with very little coverage in Australia he decided to begin production.
