"The relationships that I develop with patients and their families are unlike those in almost any other subspecialty and are special and treasured. I have long admired the amazing strength that cancer patients can summon, and I'm honored to be with them on their journey. I chose oncology because it enabled me to be with my patients throughout every step of their cancer journey. At the end of the day, what I enjoy most is interacting with and learning from my patients -not just about their disease but about their lives."

"I enjoy the science that goes into understanding disease and the various treatment approaches. I also find it challenging and rewarding to remain at the forefront of my specialties, expand my knowledge base and, as a result, continue to become a better doctor. But the reason I am here is to help individuals and their families to get through a difficult time in their lives. Most fulfilling of all is developing a relationship with these people and making sure they're always receiving the best possible care."
