Dr. Stachelek obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology with highest distinction from the California Institute of Technology before entering the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Yale School of Medicine. At Yale he completed his doctoral thesis in Genetics and was awarded combined MD and PhD degrees with honors. He then completed a residency in radiation oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has received several funded basic science research grants and national awards.
