Michael found that while there is a demand for therapeutic work, there is also a significant need for relaxation therapy. His most popular request is for a combination of both.
While many clients have physical areas in need of attention, most have a need to relax physically, mentally, and emotionally. Michael has a passion to please and recognizes that he can provide the relaxation his clients want while targeting their trouble areas. In this way, the client receives the mental and emotional escape from the world outside while getting physical relief.
Massage therapy can work to relieve stress that has manifested itself physically and mentally. Regular massage can decrease anxiety, improve concentration, improve sleep quality, and reduce fatigue. A relaxed mind and body are more capable of dealing with the stressors of life.
It is vital for clients to find a massage therapist that they feel comfortable with; that is concerned with their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing; and that will develop sessions tailored to them.
He encourages his clients to consider massage therapy as part of their preventative as well as their restorative health program. People need to stop, stretch, take a deep breath, and relax. Keeping their body, mind, and spirit in shape, they will be better equipped to handle any crisis down the road.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Michael has his clients complete a brief intake form and they review the responses and agree on the techniques and body areas to be addressed.
Sessions may consist of a combination of relaxing strokes and/or therapeutic work as well as muscle stretching and strengthening. Michael will verify that the pressure is appropriate and the client is pleased with the work. Good communication between the client and therapist is essential.
Toward the end of the session, light connective strokes applied to the body signal that the session is concluding. Michael will make certain that the client is feeling well and pleased with the session. The client is then encouraged to drink plenty of water for the next 24-48 hours.
