The Benchmark Clinic offers a bridge between the western medical model of health care and the traditional methods of healing and maintaining health. We are happy to coordinate with other primary care physicians and specialists to assure the best care for our patients. Our providers are adept at bringing together the best of both modern and traditional medicine in a supportive, comfortable environment, where all of the aspects of a patient are considered, and an individualized treatment plan is created to restore and maintain their health. Dr. Sauter often says that one of the unfortunate truths in our culture is that people commonly seek health care only at the point of illness. This often leads to treatment of only superficial symptoms with prescription medications. Unfortunately, many of these medications fail to address the underlying cause of the illness, and come with the risk of drug related side effects. Dr. Sauter is trained as a primary care physician, and in every day practice, she treats a little bit of everything, from common viruses to heart disease, but the treatment protocol always begins with supportive care, and she relies on aggressive methods only when absolutely necessary. With Dr. Sauter, you will be treated as a whole person, wherever you are in your life journey. Her goal is to nurture you in recovery and support you in wellness. Our acupuncturists personalize their sessions to each patient and work to coordinate your care as a team within the clinic. Treatments may include acupuncture, massage, moxibustion and Chinese herbs. Acupuncture is a safe, effective way of restoring the body to wellness, applicable to a wide variety of health issues, including pain, injury, post operative care.
