Bouldering, lead routes, and top-rope climbing (including auto belays) await gym guests, surrounding them in technicolor handholds that sweep up the walls at challenging angles. Elsewhere, a simulated ice-climbing wall absorbs the blows of axes, and a gear shop preps climbers to ascend walls. Classes and programs are offered indoors for all ages and abilities. Alternatively, professional guides will lead you on outdoor climbing trips to various cliffs across the state. There’s something for everyone at our climbing gym, so come see what we're all about!

Ape Index Climbing Gym provides a safe and controlled facility where active, fun-seeking individuals can challenge themselves, learn climbing, and bond with the climbing community in a positive and nurturing environment. Whether you want to top rope, boulder, or auto-belay, we have it all. For the safety of all of our climbers, first-time visitors to Ape Index, regardless of experience, will go through a complete climbing orientation. We've created an environment where people can experience climbing on many levels; from the inexperienced one-time climber to the competing athlete. All first-timers at our gym receive a detailed orientation before starting their first climb. We offer different programs, such as our Climbing Club for new, young climbers, the Junior Climbing Team for young climbers who want to learn to climb competitively, and our Competitive Climbing Team for all aged climbers who have the skills to climb competitively.
