The Mission of St. Joseph Regional Elementary School is to foster the development of each student’s character and well-being: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. Focused on the teachings of Jesus Christ and in the educative program of the Religious Teachers Filippini, the Administration, Teachers and Staff will provide a compassionate and supportive community to achieve the school’s purpose. St. Joseph Elementary School was founded in 1922 by the Pallottine Fathers. Four years later, the school was staffed by the Religious Teachers of St. Lucy Filippini (www.filippiniusa.org) whose mission is to educate and inspire young people with an awareness that will empower them to influence their world in a Christian manner. The school has a long history of excellence in education here in Hammonton. Many of its graduates pursue Catholic education at St. Joseph High School also here in Hammonton or at the other high schools of the diocese.

St. Mary's School was opened in August of 1896 to eighty students. It is the oldest private school in Williamson County. St. Mary's is part of the Diocese of Austin, Texas. St. Mary's School and St. Mary of the Assumption Church are both wonderful examples of classic architecture. The church's stained glass windows and carved marble altar are especially beautiful, moving and peaceful. It took more than simply beautiful buildings to make a school. Teachers and students were needed. In the early years, the Dominican Sisters brought religion, discipline, and solid education to the students of St. Mary's. They also instilled sound moral and spiritual values in all St. Mary's students of all ages! Later, lay teachers became more integral to the school and its mission. Today, St. Mary's has become an integral part of the Taylor and surrounding communities. We are growing steadily and have recently added a high school, providing education from PK3 - 12th grades! Many of St. Mary's graduates now have children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren in attendance. We are truly a family, working for Christ and for His children, young and old. We enjoy the continuance of the Dominican Sisters as part of the excellence in education and spirituality.
