I also specialize in substance abuse treatment. I am certified at both the state of MI and the national level as an addiction counselor. I hold a specialized certification as an SAP (Substance Abuse Professional).

As an art therapist I use art and the process of making art to help kids, adolescents, and parents reduce stress and improve overall well-being. I stay informed about the current research in neuroscience in order to create art-based treatment that is based in science. Art therapy is not about becoming an artist and prior knowledge of art and art materials is not necessary. Art therapy incorporates art in addition to talk therapy to get results. I am perceptive to body language and non-verbal communication during assessment and therapy sessions and use that understanding to center treatment around you, the client. I work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your goals and needs.
