Willie Crockett, the artist of Crockett Gallery speaks with the strong dialect unique to Tangier Island where he was born and grew up fishing, hunting waterfowl and roaming the marshes of the Chesapeake Bay. He paints with the strength of a life-long intimate knowledge he acquired from this enchanting youth. His paintings are recognized as among the most honest portrayals of the Chesapeake drama and beauty. Best known for his wildlife art, Willie transmits to his paintings an ever fresh view of the Eastern Shore Landscape, the wildfowl and the Marsh. An occasional easy transition into colorful abstracts and flowers speaks for the versatility of the painter and the sensitivity of the man.

Gloucester's new non-profit Art Center/Gallery is showing art work from exciting local and international artists in the Gallery. Art Classes and Workshops are being scheduled in the classroom. "Visions By Shirl" is a working art studio. In addition to "Shirl" painting and displaying her art in the studio, she has a gallery showing the fine art of 4 additional artists. Every second Friday of each month, "Visions By Shirl" is joined by 8 venues displaying art and crafts. The Second Friday Art Walk is free to the public and many of the venues offer refreshments. Along with the artwork, "Shirl" features notecards, giclee prints, prints on canvas, artwork t-shirts, a limited amount of art supplies, and hand-painted artwork tables.
