Many difference species of birds reside at the Alaska Raptor Center including American Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Great-Horned Owls, Snowy Owls, Western Screech Owls, Great Gray Owls, Northern Saw Whet Owls, Peregrine Falcons, Ravens, Red-Tailed Hawks, and Swainson's Hawks. Here at the Alaska Raptor Center, we work with each bird to regain flight and survival capabilities in the hopes that we will be able to release these wonderful birds back into their natural environment. Occasionally severe injuries, genetic defects, and other complications prevent certain raptors from being released. These birds then become permanent residents at the Raptor Center.
