Iniatated into the secrets of Shohin Bonsai in a lineage including such names as David Goscinski, William Brietien, and Yugi Yoshimura. Granville has also studied pine bonsai with Pauline Muth and bases his teachings upon Bonsai Techniques One and Two by John Naka (as a recomended text book) as well as an US North eastern oral tradition and his own original shohin bonsai techniques.
