Nanci opened the FI Country Mouse almost 30 yrs ago after she'd had enough of the crime and armed robberies at the City Mouse in Greenwich Village. The Country Mouse is so tiny that walls and ceiling are covered with an assortment of items. Most of the collectibles are from Ira's personal collection and are no longer being manufactured or sold in retail stores. Prices are low so that kids can buy them with their own money, thus becoming collectors themselves. If you are not a Beach Person Fire Island can get boring, so Ira picked up a trick from the children... paint Rocks & Shells and sell them at the annual Fine Arts & Crafts Show every August. Come visit that weekend, Rain or Shine.
