Trains depart from the station about every 1/2 hour, more often on weekends and holidays. The ride lasts 9 to 10 minutes, and allows you to see parts of the park that are not accessible any other way. The last train of the day departs at 4PM. Colorado Walking Sticks are carved from dead Aspen trees. These are small trees about 2 inches in diameter found lying on the ground or standing among live trees. My sticks vary in size from 54 to 70 inches long. They are rustic so that their appearance gives the stick character. The bark is removed from the stick, and a grip is ground into the top of the stick. If the customer has a pet or loves a certain kind of animal, or a fish or a Star Trek character, whatever, I will carve it on or into the stick. Inscriptions are burned into the stick. The stick is sanded and sealed and two coats of polyurethane is applied to the stick. A rubber tip is added to the bottom of the stick and the top part of the stick, above the grip, has a leather strap added to it.
