The lab was founded by Ali and Shane Hatch, partners in life and in work who share a deep respect for both science and nature. Ali’s background as a marine biologist shaped her understanding of natural systems and inspired her transition into formulation. After years studying the chemistry of marine life and the impact of environmental toxins, she turned her attention to creating products that could be both safe and effective. Shane, an engineer with a mind for systems and problem-solving, brought the operational structure that would allow that science to scale. Together, they built Pure Earth Labs from the ground up.
