As a licensed couples therapist, I help couples struggling or feeling stuck in their relationships. As a designated Gottman Seven Principles Leader, I host psychoeducational virtual workshops for couples because couples thrive best when they nurture their relationships. The objective of this workshop is to enrich couples love for their relationships providing tools and skills based on Dr. John Gottman’s New York Times bestselling book—The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Life is a journey! We all view things uniquely through our own lens. For instance, a couple can interpret the same art piece differently because they do not share the same lens. They have different life experiences and view each situation based on their past experiences. It also impacts how they view themselves, family, relationships, community, etc. When I look through my lens I view each experience with a sense of open-mindedness, curiosity, compassion, understanding, and hope. I wear this same lens as a couples therapist. My goal is to help couples understand each other’s feelings and needs, teach them new skills and strategies, and communicate with empathy and understanding within a safe, non-judgmental space.
