LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE Our programs encourage active ageing! Active ageing is the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age. We celebrate adults ages 50 and older as fully participating members of society and promote the benefits of leading an active, healthier lifestyle. LCCOA also highlights the ability of older adults to live well, regardless of age or health conditions. The Lincoln County Council on Aging offers various programs and activities to help encourage active lifestyles for our consumers. We offer weekly exercise, quilting, cribbage, bingo, veterans coffee talk, line dancing and evening dances. Once a week we provide transportation for our constituents for doctors' visits and grocery shopping. Monthly we provide FREE Certified Medicare counseling, blood pressure screening, and movie nights. Starting this month we'll also be offering FREE flu shots once a month at all locations. We also schedule various day and weekend trips for our clients to participate if they chose. (Examples; Vineyard Voyage, St. Louis Excursion, and Branson Trip). Besides all of those activities, our regular functions are daily meals provided at all four facilities, and over 68,000 home delivered meals a year! LCCOA also prints it's very own "Live Your Best Life Newsletter" each month to provide up to date information, and share exciting news, upcoming trips, etc., so our clients stay entertained and involved.... especially if they're home bound. Lastly, we're partnered with many other organizations that offer even more free programs. The University of Missouri Extension provides us with evidence based programs, which are proven ways to promote health and prevent disease among older adults. The Lincoln County Medical Center provides our clients with free counseling for chronic disease management.
