I take a pattern and iron it and spread it out on the fabric, then pin. I usually do an alteration to this so I either change the design or make the pattern fit better to form. Then I cut it out. I have a model bust so I use it to piece together the outfit to see how it is laying and how it looks. I make needed changes. I sew the pieces together. I iron as I go. I try on the garment and if I like it I do what's called "finishing" the garment. I am then finished with the garment. Alterations have to be taken apart at the seems and taken in or let out. It is a lot of work by hand and by sewing machine. You have to work with the measurements of the person you are trying to fit the garment to, making sure you iron real good as you go.
