Robert H. Butcher, Jr. founded Butcher's Block & Building Materials on September 1, 1980. The company started out very small with only 2 employees, Bob Butcher being one of them. Since that time, the company has grown from a small lumber yard into one of the largest in the area. Bob Butcher worked hard running Butcher's Block every day, until his untimely death in December of 2007. Butcher's Block bought out an existing lumber company (Homestead Supplies) in June, 1988 and branched out into a full retail hardware store that carries a full line of paint, plumbing and electrical supplies and now employees 30+ people. In July of 2005 we also purchased a lumber and hardware store in Lucerne Valley. Through hard work and dedication we are proud of the company we are today.
