I enjoyed baking (and eating J) until I was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue Disease in 1997. I gave up all the foods I used to love. The aroma of baked goods was like torture, so I even stopped baking for my family. Eventually I got out my old recipe box and picked a recipe that I was hungry for and rewrote the recipe using a variety of gluten free flours. When my husband (who is of a critical mind) told me I could stop making him separate food because my gluten free food was just as good, I knew these recipes were special.
