Forensic Fire Consultants was founded in 1989 and provides forensic fire expert witness services, fire origin and cause investigations, and training (Continuing Education Units) services to defense and plaintiff attorneys, insurance and claim adjusters, and manufacturers. Our senior investigator, Bernard (Sandy) Kromenacker, has over 30 years of specialized education, training, and experience in the field of forensic fire and explosion investigations. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Sandy has conducted over 3300 fire origin and cause investigations. These thorough investigations often result in settlements that avoid litigation or criminal trials. Furthermore, he is an expert forensic fire witness who has qualified in both state and federal court for civil and criminal cases and who has provided testimony in numerous depositions and trials. FFCI has handled case both large and small fire loss incidents from various regions of the country. He shares his knowledge and expertise as an adjunct faculty instructor in the Fire Science program at Durham Technical Community College.
