Rachel Wells is a painter and muralist, who began her art life as a silkscreen printer and designer with her own greeting card company. She worked in promotion houses, advertising agencies, magazines and newspapers. Studied at the Art Students League and Greenwich House Pottery. Exhibited at BACA Downtown, Blue Lady, Kanvas, Gotham, A.I.R., One-Twenty-Eight, and the BAC Gallery. Taught ceramic sculpture at Cornel University, Children Paint the Landscape at the YMCA, and now teaches privately in her own studio. Received New York State funding for her BA at NYU, a federal grant to learn commercial art, a 4 year work/study scholarship to the Art Students League, and in 2009, won a grant from the NY State Dept of Cultural Affairs to paint the 2nd, of 3 murals, in Woodhull Hospital.
