For as long as I can remember, I have loved looking at photos. As I was growing up, every time I would visit my grandparents I would sit and look through this box of old photos they had -- just sitting here thinking of the precious memories held inside brings a smile to my face. My passion for photography comes from within, I have grown up taking pictures of my family and as I had my own children that passion continued to call to me. I feel blessed to be doing what I love and I look forwarding to capturing moments in time that will become treasured pieces of tomorrow.

The camera is basically an extension of myself. To say that I am passionate about it is an understatement. When my first son was born in 2009, my love affair with photography began. I started teaching myself the art of digital photography and felt confident in my knowledge and ability to launch my business in 2013. I love the way photography has taught me to see the world differently. Even when I am not taking photos with my camera, I am taking them in my mind; looking for and analyzing light, framing subjects, seeing beauty in the ordinary moments. I am moved most by light and you'll notice that it plays a big part in my photography; whether I'm using backlight to soften a tender moment, sidelight to add drama, or direct light to flatter a portrait - any way you cut it, light is my jam. My goal is to create images that are not only beautifully light-inspired, but that also preserve a moment in time. From an infant’s first reaches to a toddler’s unsteady steps to a child’s joyful leaps, I strive to capture the joy that accompanies these special moments. My style is the juxtaposition of vintage and modern, serious and silly, classic but non-traditional. I adore creating whimsical pieces of art for your home, but I also delight in capturing moments that are real. Some of the best photographs come from the most unexpected moments….and I want to be there to capture them all for you. I have also received 3 Expertise Awards, and am published in Dear Photographer magazine.

Having been a photographer for Time Magazine and National Geographic, Jason has been attacked by a mountain lion, had stand-off with Grizzly Bear, experienced hypothermia, frostbite, heat stroke, and had the great pleasure to experience the lasting trademarks of global, environmental, political, commercial, and photojournalistic photography first hand. The experiences, the sorrows, and the happiness of unexpected victories have made his life of photography an endearing adventure in which he finds himself, complete, thankful and willing to make a difference. After almost twenty years behind the lens, Jason still loves every minute, and looks forward to every shoot as if it were the first. He has had the distinct privilege to meet and work with, and for, some of the best people on earth!
