Wilson Fabric was started in 1993 with a 90 day note and a dream. Lucy Wilson and her husband Andy saw an ad in the paper for a truck load of fabric at one set price. They rented a building and that day Wilson Fabric was opened. At first she sold everything for $5.00 a yard. Lucy had to learn all about the different fabrics she had to offer and there were many. Wilson Fabric placed a couple ads with US 101 and the Times Free Press and the following week as she was walking to work, she saw her parking lot crowded with cars. Lucy thought at first something had happened, but she soon realized all these people were waiting for her to open. The women who had been in the store the last week had been telling their friends about Wilson Fabrics. Wilson Fabric is more then just a fabric store. You get a feeling of belonging and friendship when you walk through the doors and there is always a smiling face to help you make the right choices for your next project.
