Rock-Shops.net was developed out of a desire to find Rock Shops as my wife and I were traveling. As Rockhounds and a recreational geologist we love travel to new locations to Rock Hunt and visit all the Rock Shops we can find. I spent a lot of time doing Internet searches and looking through books and magazines before our trips. So I decided to spend time putting together a list of all the rock shops I could find in the states we were going to. I realized this information for all the states would be useful to other people doing the same thing as us. So I set out to make an accurate comprehensive list and put it on a website.
