SW Canine Rehabilitation, Inc., a 501C3 Non-profit organization, was founded by Steve Welch, an internationally known Dog Trainer. Steve has been training dogs, owners, and other dog trainers since 1962. His goal is to promote responsible pet ownership through education. His mission is to turn dogs into functional members of society. Steve supports the ideal of Mutualism-an interspecies relationship in which both participating species (dog and human) benefit by associating with the other. Through his years of experience, Steve has developed techniques and training tools based on animal behaviors and the effects of surrounding environments that allows him to train and rehabilitate dogs to provide a variety of roles and functions. As a result of Steve’s relationship with many dog rescue organizations, he has rehabilitated countless dogs whose behavior problems would have otherwise caused them to be unplaceable and/or destroyed. Unlike other pet service organizations, SW Canine Rehabilitation uses only Exempt EPA Products (25(b) Products) which are exempt from FIFRA registration, and are approved by OSHA’s safety standards. This program is completely pesticide free, with no negative impacts to the environment-truly a “green” business. In addition to obedience training and public education, Steve extends his services to local and international government agencies, active and off-duty law enforcement, the military, as well as those with mental or physical disabilities, rescuing abused and abandoned dogs then training them to help those in need. Steve has worked with individuals and organizations as varied as the Make A Wish Foundation, movie dogs, and the White House. While Steve’s training reputation is international, it is his training of dog trainers that sets him apart from others in the dog service industry; he has been providing professional trainer courses for over 40 years to vets, groomers, and other pet professionals.
