BIZOU opened in 2010 as a "little sister cafe" to the original Avalon Restaurant & Bar in Eureka. Over the years our guests and friends from Arcata and north asked for a closer location for their beloved Avalon food and style! We chose a spot in the corner of the Uniontown Center and began by truly cleaning up the rundown area that had been taken over by trash and an unsavory transient population (not to be confused with the homeless, whom are given shelter in Arcata) This was truly a community service, now with increased lighting, new landscape plantings, new jobs created and a safe, freshly painted entry from a private, generous lot BEHIND the center; all delivered with aesthetic beauty, fabulous food, great place to meet friends and a wine bar opportunities for tastings and events!
