Dr Basil grew up in New York and attended NYU's Stern School of Business where he double majored in finance and accounting. He subsequently worked at BlackRock Financial Management's New York City office in the Financial Markets Advisory Group. Dr Basil ultimately left finance to pursue medicine, and attended the Tufts Postbaccalaureate Premedical program followed by the Tufts University School of Medicine where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction. He completed residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. At the University of Miami he completed a two year fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine with a sub-specialty interest in endoscopic spinal surgery.

Dr Burks grew up in Orlando, FL. He obtained his liberal arts degree at Rollins College with magna cum laude distinction, subsequently completing medical school at the University of Miami with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction. He completed Neurosurgical residency at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. At UM he obtained CAST accredited fellowship training in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery and peripheral nerve surgery. He maintains an active lifestyle playing tennis and basketball. He enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction.
