Dr Michael Wang joins the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami after having served as the Spine Director at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, and the Spine Fellowship Director at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Dr Wang specializes in the treatment of complex spinal disorders. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology and then received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr Joacir Graciolli is a neurological surgeon who specializes in the surgical treatment of brain and spinal disorders of the nervous system. His areas of interest are neurotrauma, chronic pain (including spinal cord stimulation), degenerative spinal disorders, spasticity, epilepsy (VNS) as well as robotic surgery for trigeminal neuralgia. He is also interested in the study of complex multi-modal monitoring, neuroaugmentative and neuroregenerative approaches for the treatment of critically ill patients with traumatic brain injury with the goal of optimizing functional outcome. Dr Graciolli is Board Certified in Neurological Surgery from the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery and by the LandesÃrztekammer Baden-WÃrttemberg.

Dr Benjamin is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and specializes in cranial neurosurgery, with a particular interest in open and endoscopic skull base surgery. She completed her neurosurgery residency at New York University in Manhattan under the chairmanship of DrJohn Golfinos. She then completed a fellowship in skull base surgery with DrChandrananth Sen as well as a radiosurgery fellowship with Dr Douglas Kondziolka at NYU. She joined the faculty at University of Miami in September 2019. DrBenjamin treats all areas of neuro-oncology, including primary brain tumors as well as brain metastases.

Dr. Goel is a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon that offers neurosurgical treatments for patients with benign and malignant brain tumors, facial pain and spasm, and spinal trauma and degenerative disorders. She has an interest in minimally invasive techniques, including percutaneous rhizotomy for trigeminal neuralgia, endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery for pituitary and seller tumors, and stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors, vascular malformations, and trigeminal neuralgia.

Dr Landy was born in Texas and grew up in South Florida. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and he received his MD from the University of Miami in 1980. His internship in General Surgery and residency in Neurological Surgery were served at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals, completing his chief residency in 1987. During residency, he received special training in functional and stereotactic neurosurgery from his mentor, Dr John Van Buren. His concentration in epilepsy surgery included significant experience in electroencephalography under the tutelage of Dr Cosimo Ajmone-Marsan.

Dr Komotar is Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in neuroscience from Duke University, spending a year at Oxford University in England to focus on neuropharmacology. He received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with highest honors and completed his internship and neurosurgical residency at Columbia University Medical Center/The Neurological Institute of New York, followed by a surgical neurooncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to specialize in brain tumors.

Dr Timur Urakov is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Miami specializing in Spine surgery. He currently treats traumatic, degenerative and neoplastic conditions all along the spine and employs advanced technology to further improve surgical workflow. Presently, Dr Urakov, is pioneering the use of augmented reality in neurosurgical applications. He is one of the few surgeons in the world, utilizing Heads-Up display in operating rooms. His collaborations with the specialist in computer science, bioengineering and quantum physics have set the gears in motion for further implementation of artificial intelligence, deep machine learning, advanced imaging and nanotechnology in the field of Neurosurgery.
