Since 2003, BYA has grown to meet the needs of residents in Berkeley and throughout Alameda County. Our contract with the Workforce Investment Board enables high-risk youth ages 16-21 to go to college, to participate in vocational programs, and to become gainfully employed. Our partnership with the Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services Agency ensures that residents ages 8-21 and their families are provided with professional mental health services in a non-traditional setting. Finally, our relationship with the Alameda County Office of Education prevents youth from become permanent wards of the state and provides them with counseling, case management, direct financial support, intern opportunities, enrichment services, and college preparation.
