About us:
Brazos Arts Music School, established in 2007. Located in historic downtown Bryan, Texas, Brazos Arts® has become one of the largest and most favored spots for music lesson programs geared for all ages and abilities. Weekly, 1/2 hour lesson programs include piano lessons, singing lessons, guitar lessons & drum lessons. Brazos Arts® is a supporter of the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the BBB, the Texas Music Teachers Association and the National Music Teachers Association.
Our teaching philosophy:
Our approach to teaching includes showing students how to achieve successes in playing an instrument quickly, yet also understand and appreciate that being a learning musician is a life-long journey that requires never-ending work and dedication.
What makes us different from our competition?
* Rather than force our students into a rigid, predefined curriculum, we offer customized lesson content to meet the specific needs, interests and strengths of each individual student. Everybody brings something unique to them, and we work hard to tap into that.
* There are no long term agreements or minimum number of lessons. Although we have students that have attended weekly lessons for many years, most students do not benefit from long-term enrollment. We believe that the control should rest with the students and/or families we serve. It is completely natural to get to a point in the learning process whereby it makes sense to stop the weekly lessons and spend more time refining and polishing the material learned to date, then return to lessons (if and when) the time is right. Not only is this more likely to keep the FUN in music, but it’s also a better way to learn.
* Our instructors are true working, performing musicians. We understand and teach the performance aspect as well as the theory and technique of playing an instrument or singing.
* Our facility is welcoming and relaxing. Located in a renovated 100+-year-old Georgian home, the vibe and energy is awesome. Most of the positive feedback we receive includes commentary about how comfortable people feel here.
Additional information:
In addition to serving the musical needs of the local community, we’ve established a non-profit organization called Red Door Music School. Our mission is to provide high quality free music and voice instruction (as well as the musical instruments themselves) to those otherwise not able to participate.
