BSFL promotes dialog and action in Communities, Schools and organizations we then design programs that encourage partnership and actions that lead to the support of individuals and their community.

The North Carolina Housing Coalition is a private, nonprofit membership organization working for decent, affordable housing that promotes self-determination and stable communities for low- and moderate-income North Carolinians.

SpiritHouse is a multi-generational, black-women-led organization. We use culture, art and media to support the empowerment of communities impacted by racism and poverty. Our strategies, which include cultural organizing and coalition building, are based in community customs, culture and practices.

DCSL offers eight programs: Congregate Meals - a nutritious hot lunch at four centers Social and Senior Center Services scheduled and drop-in activities Health Promotion classes and support Information, Referral and Case Assistance - serves as the main resource for older adults in Durham, including the published Senior resource directory, Telephone Reassurance Calls, Depression Prevention and Early Intervention Caregiver Support Program - provides in-home respite care, caregiver support group, and caregiver education. Health Insurance Counseling - provides full-service counseling for older adults about Medicare and other health insurances, Transportation - rides to the congregate meal sites and limited transportation to grocery stores. Adult Day Health Center
