The primary project of the Human Kindness Foundation is the Prison-Ashram Project, which encourages prisoners to use their time for spiritual transformation, using classic practices from all the world's great religions. We get letters from approximately 400 inmates a week from all over the world, and each of those letters is read with attention and compassion. Most receive our free books; some also receive personal notes in response to the questions they ask. Three times a year, we publish a newsletter which goes to over 40,000 inmates and 5,000 others. There is no charge to be on our newsletter list, and back issues can be read on our website.
