35+ Years of Handmade Memorial Monuments:
Hawkstone Memorials Ltd. was founded in 2018 by Vlad and Yaroslava after 35 years of experience in monument craftsmanship, having competed thousands of memorials.
Vlad is a third generation European memorial builder. He started making memorials by hand as an apprentice in his family’s workshop in Knezha, Bulgaria, receiving the knowledge of the craft from his grandfather and father from a young age. He crafted monuments by the techniques his family taught him, carving them out of raw stone material and etching the designs and letterings by hand with a chisel and hammer. In Alberta, Canada, Vlad was lucky to learn new, modern techniques from the best in the industry before they retired. Over more than three decades he completed many beautiful memorials in Europe and all around Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan that have allowed families to, remember their loved ones honourably and respectfully. Welcome to National Diabetes Trust, Canada's largest charitable small household goods and clothing collection service and the social enterprise of Diabetes Canada.
With more than 3,000 donation bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada, we collect unwanted gently used household items and clothing to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada. This helps support programs and research on behalf of the 11 million Canadians living with diabetes and pre-diabetes.
But we're more than just household items and clothing donation collectors. We are an organization of dedicated professionals working with Canadians from coast to coast fighting to End Diabetes through waste diversion. Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million lbs. of household items and clothing from landfill sites across Canada.

The Brain Care Centre is as a non-profit organization stemming from the merger of NABIS (Northern Alberta Brain Injury Society) and EBIRS (Edmonton Brain Injury ReLearning Society) that was created on April 1, 2011. Our goal is to provide support, service coordination to persons with acquired brain injury and their caregivers as well as providing education, and increasing public awareness. Brain Care Centre offers programs and services at no cost to clients in its offices in Edmonton and Edson. Outreach services span from Edmonton and area, and include Drayton Valley and the communities along Highway 16 from Stony Plain all the way to Jasper.
