The new Paradiso home in Arusha, Tanzania was built by donations to MOWW and we continue to support the 26 children living at the Paradiso orphanage. Vlad is a third generation European memorial builder. He started making memorials by hand as an apprentice in his family’s workshop in Knezha, Bulgaria, receiving the knowledge of the craft from his grandfather and father from a young age. He crafted monuments by the techniques his family taught him, carving them out of raw stone material and etching the designs and letterings by hand with a chisel and hammer. During this momentous occasion, we were able to provide the gift of mobility and freedom by distributing 12 wheelchairs to those in need. This act of generosity marked the beginning of our unwavering dedication that spread not only in the Philippines but also in the Middle East and South Africa, thus the International Wheelchair Foundation was born.
