SMG Claims Public Adjusters was formed in Kentucky in 2015, however, its origins outside of Kentucky began much earlier. Hello, My name is Stephen “Steve” Mullins, Founder and Managing Member of SMG Claims Public Adjusters. I began my insurance claims career in 1990 while attending law school and working as a law clerk for a San Diego based law firm specializing in insurance defense. During that time, I was involved in handling all types of insurance matters, including but not limited to being a part of the firm’s construction defect litigation team and legal writing team. In 1993 I earned my Law Degree (J.D., Juris Doctor) from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, in San Diego, California. After graduation, I became a licensed California Public Adjuster, as well as a licensed Public Adjuster in several other States. I also became a licensed California Real Estate Agent and a Licensed California Property and Casualty Insurance Broker. As a Public Adjuster, I initially represented Banks, Mortgage Companies and Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSE) as well as Guarantors, handling hazard insurance claims on pre-foreclosure and post-foreclosure/REO assets throughout the United States. Later I expanded my services to represent investors buying bulk assets, in addition to individual investors, homeowners and business owners.
