Bryant Arts is home to the departments of Studio Art and Art History/Visual Culture of Denison University. The building boasts studios, a foundry, classrooms, and a computer lab. Built in 1904 as a men's gymnasium, the building had many lives before it became the amazing arts center that it is today. Bryant Arts originally contained an auditorium named Sherwin Hall, Swasey gymnasium, a library, general meeting rooms, and a swimming pool.

The roots of the Maumee Valley Historical Society goes back to 1864 with the formation of the Maumee Valley Pioneer Association. The founding members were early settlers of Northwest Ohio, who came together to protect and preserve the historic artifacts of the Maumee Valley as well as document information about themselves for future generations. Peter Navarre was the first president of the Society and served until his death in 1873. Horatio Conant served as Vice-President. The first meeting was held in Toledo, on February 22, 1865, with Morrison R. Waite of Maumee City, Ohio as the guest speaker. In 1918, the Society became known as the Historical Society of Northwest Ohio. The object of the Society was to: 1) Acquire books, printed papers, and manuscripts, 2) Encourage writing of books

Denison Art Space in Newark is a multi-arts center located in downtown Newark, in the historic Thirty-One West development. The space consists of a flexible gallery area, two music teaching studios, and an artist-in-residence studio that welcomes artists who are looking to take advantage of the rich history of downtown Newark. The Denison Art Space in Newark is made possible in part by state tax dollars allocated by the Ohio Legislature to the Ohio Arts Council.

We operate the Pioneer House museum at 28 Gish Road in Rittman, Ohio. There you'll find exhibits representing early life in Rittman from the pioneer era through the early 20th century. We proudly feature materials reflecting the history of the industries that have called Rittman home throughout the years, and a room dedicated to Rittman's veterans. We also operate historic Knupp Church on Kunkler Drive just north of Rittman Cemetery on Decourcey Road. This beautiful one-room church was built in 1817, and is available for meeting and wedding rentals. In addition to several open houses and events held throughout the year, both locations can be viewed at your request. We welcome any size group, from one or two to school classes, scout troops, church groups, etc.

Elaine Scarvelis teaches “Elaine’s Little Picassos” Children’s Art Classes every Saturday as well as a summer camp every July at the Toledo Botanical Gardens - Toledo Artists’ Club. The classes are in mixed media for one hour.
