Originally founded in 1928 as a mission, Holy Spirit Catholic Church has transformed into a vibrant bilingual (Spanish and English) congregation serving Lake Wales, Florida, and the surrounding communities. The church community has young families, families with children, community leaders, and of course snowbirds. Holy Spirit Church loves being made up of a diversity of people, reflecting the beauty of our human family. One of the things that the church community is most well known for is service to the community through works of service, giving, and a deep and abiding sense of hospitality. The Spanish style mission architecture and grounds of Holy Spirit provide many community organizations with a safe haven for meeting, family, and community functions. The church welcomes the opportunity to be the spiritual home for families, especially those looking to become catholic, baby dedications, first communion, quinceañeras, and weddings. Holy Spirit Catholic Church prides itself on holistic and dynamic ministries to all peoples including those who are incarcerated. Deacon Sam, has spent many years facilitating a dynamic prison ministry. Holy Spirit is thankful to serve Polk county with our works of faith like "The Respect Life Committee," "The Legion of Mary," Needlework for Christ sake, Marriage Prep, the third order of Saint Francis, Knights of Columbus, and many other ministries.
