Sports Performance Group approaches training from a unique scientific standpoint. Unlike traditional programs, our athletes work based on the European model; training on all facets of athletic development specifically for the sports they play. Meaning, if you play Lacrosse, you will do speed, agility and strengthening exercises that make you a better lacrosse player and incorporate aspects of movement you will immediately see on the field. Agility, strength, flexibility, coordination, speed, rhythm, and quickness are our main points of con­centration. But we especially look for strengthening weaknesses. Good day, my name is Ms. Verna Montgomery, CEO, Chairperson and I have come to you with my proposal for a sports community. The majority of the children are economically disadvantaged, and come from single-family program for the children residing in the Bronx within my households, as well as larger family member households. These families/parents cannot afford to pay for their children to be a part of the sports activities and/or participate in the sports activities in New York City's five boroughs. This is primarily due to one income family member, cost and expenses for participation. The things I have observed day to day in my community are that we do not have adequate sports activities for the children to participate in and develop into successful world champion athletes. At the Capital District Martial Arts center we offer instruction in Traditional Martial Arts with a emphasis on developing students to the highest level possible.
