We specialize in Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu and Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. Besides traditional Kung Fu and Tai Chi, we offer fighting training, self-defense, women's self-defense, qiqong (internal health techniques), stretching and flexibility training, traditional Chinese weaponry, and a host of other beneficial programs. Smith's CMA offers Adult, Youth, and Children's courses. Students do not sign contracts, and there are no sign-up fees, testing fees, or belt fees. For us, it is simple... This karate dojo in Mesa, AZ is also popular with kids and adults from Gilbert, Chandler and Tempe. We train in traditional karate’s life protection arts which emphasize natural body positions and character building. In our active classes we build fitness and stamina, strength and power, agility and balance, leadership and respect, and decision-making and reactions. Our History: Kirk Gauger and Jenifer Tull-Gauger, a husband-and-wife team, have been running this karate school since 2002. They are the head instructors at the dojo, with a strong support system of many caring, professional certified black belts to help teach. This leadership team works together with students to help them achieve their own goals, as well as the common goal of promoting the tradition of the life protection arts of Okinawa.
