Melanie Roberts-Boyd, MSN, APRN-FNP, BC, is a nurse practitioner with advanced experience in Neurology. She earned her BSN and MSN from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and treats patients for a broad range of neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, and movement disorders. Known for her compassionate, patient-centered care, Melanie joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in July 2025.

Leslie Juarez is a certified physician assistant in Kelsey-Seybold's Neurology department. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Houston in 2016, graduating cum laude, and her Master of Physician Assistant from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas, in 2021. During her clinical year, she supported many medical disciplines throughout Texas, which is how she discovered her passion for Neurology.

Dr. Jonathan Garza is Chief of Neurology at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. After earning his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2003, Dr. Garza completed his internship and residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Garza is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Neurology and the Harris County Neurological Society. When not caring for patients, Dr. Garza enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time, he also enjoys reading, rock climbing and traveling with his family.

Dr. Ezekiel Sachs earned his bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, with distinction, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 2007. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond in 2011. Dr. Sachs completed his residency in Adult Neurology in June 2015 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology with an emphasis in epilepsy at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta in June 2016. He completed his fellowship in epilepsy at Baylor College of Medicine in July 2016. He joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in August 2017. Dr. Sachs is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society.Dr. Sachs enjoys exploring new restaurants, live music, cinema and road trips with his wife to Lake Travis Not many people know it, but before moving to Houston, Dr. Sachs had never tried queso.

Shonte Byrd, M.D., earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where she went on to complete her internship and residency.

At St Michael's Neurology and Pain Medicine, Dr. Pappolla and the team provide care for concussions, traumatic brain injury, migraines, back pain, neck pain, spine disorders, headaches, and other chronic pain disorders in Houston, Pasadena, Nassau, Clear Lake, and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Karpinos earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in 2002. She continued her education at Baylor, completing both her internship and fellowship in Neurology in 2003. In her free time, Dr. Karpinos enjoys playing the guitar and piano, watching movies and cooking.

Beatriz Casas, BSN, RN, MPAS, PA, is a certified physian assistant who specializes in Neurology. She completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2016. She went on to complete her Master of Physician Assitant Studies in 2022 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. At a young age, Beatriz knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. Growing up, she witnessed the obstacles her family faced when seeking medical care, and she wanted to be able to help bridge the gap for the Spanish speaking community. Beatriz joined Kelsey-Seybold as a Neurology Physician Assistant in 2023.

After completing his medical degree in 1990, Hassan A Javanshir, MD, went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship at Staten Island University Hospital in New York in 1997, followed by two residencies in Neurology - one at the University of Chicago in 1999 and the other at the University of Texas at Houston in 2001. He also completed a Neurophysiology fellowship at Tulane University in 2003. Dr. Javanshir joined Kelsey-Seybold's Neurology department in January 2024. He sees patients to treat and manage a variety of diseases and conditions of the nervous system, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease, palsies, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and cerebrovascular disease.
