Chef Pedro Vera is an eclectic and well-versed culinary master with well over 10 years experience in some of the Bay Area's finest establishments. Mentored by the late Don Isaac Mejia, owner and proprietor of Don Pico's Mexican Bistro and Cevicheria in San Bruno, CA, he was a diamond in the rough and Isaac saw in him a great chef. Isaac gave Pedro full reigns in the kitchen and named him his Executive Chef, and that is an honor coming from a bistro that has fed many superstars including Seattle Seahawks player Marshawn Lynch.
Unfortunately, with time, all good things can be warped and mangled and that includes food. Many people perceive Mexican food as what is served up in Taco Bell but with all honesty, food like that does the real deal a true injustice. Mexican cuisine is as diverse as it gets; infusing flavors from the indigenous Aztecs and Mayans to the Middle East and Spain as well as the Caribbean. Traveling from region to region, the cuisine further diversifies flavors and ingredients and Chef Pedro wants to share with YOU the true and authentic flavors encompassed by Mexican food!
After the tragic and premature death of Pedro's mentor and friend, Isaac Mejia, Pedro decided he was ready for a change in scenery and pace and decided to relocate to the beautiful Spokane Valley. He was disconcerted at the lack of representation of his home country's cuisine and thus, he is ready to share with the area the full flavors and mouth-watering recipes that are muy authentico! Your friends and family will be blown away when you whip up some of the dishes and drinks you learn from Chef Pedro, so reserve your spot today and get ready for the trip of your lifetime!
