Dr. Roopitha Kaval, a native of Kolar, Karnataka, India, immigrated to Canada where she completed her primary schooling in Calgary, Alberta. She earned her Medical Degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in 2017. Dr. Kaval completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Baton Rouge General in 2021 and her fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2023. She joined The Baton Rouge Clinic's Endocrinology Department in the Fall of 2023. Dr. Kaval is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana and is board-certified in both Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. She is also a member of the Endocrine Society. Dr. Kaval speaks fluent English and Kannada. When not at the office, Dr. Kaval enjoys cooking, painting, photography, and traveling.

Following the completion of his B.S. in Zoology in 1987 from LSU in Baton Rouge, Dr. Gary H. Field earned his M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1991. His medical residency in Internal Medicine was completed through the LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge, and he earned a fellowship in his specialty of Endocrinology and Metabolism from Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Field was an associate professor at LSU and practiced through the LSU Healthcare Network from 1996 through 2001, at which time he joined The Baton Rouge Clinic. He is certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed in the state of Louisiana. A member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Dr. Field has served as Assistant Professor at both LSU Health (formerly Earl K. Long) and Tulane University. He held an appointment as Director of Ambulatory Medical Clinics at the former Earl K. Long Medical Center.

Air Force Veteran, Dr. Jeannemarie D. Hinkle is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, having earned her B.S. from the University before receiving her M.D. from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1995. She performed her medical residency in Internal Medicine and earned a fellowship from Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She furthered her medical education with training in Flight Medicine, completing two programs of study, first in 1996 and a second from 2002-04. Dr. Hinkle is board certified in Endocrinology and a former Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. She is currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana. She is a member of the Capital Area Medical Society, a Preceptor with the Tulane/Baton Rouge General Residency Program, and a former member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

Dr. Shatha Y. Murad, a native of New Orleans, is one of the newest physicians at The Baton Rouge Clinic. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of New Orleans, and earned her Medical Degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport in 2013. She performed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas-Southwestern, completing the program in 2016. Dr. Murad completed a Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2018. Dr. Murad is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified in Endocrinology. She is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. She is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Illinois and Louisiana. Returning home to Louisiana, Dr. Murad joined the Baton Rouge Clinic family of physicians in August of 2018. In addition to English, Dr. Murad also speaks Arabic fluently.

Dr. Jonathan Welden's life and medical career spanned the United States before he moved to the south to make Baton Rouge home with his wife and son. Performing his undergraduate studies through the University of Tennessee in Martin, Tennessee, he earned his M.D. and completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency through the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 2006. Dr. Jonathan G. Welden completed a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at George Washington University in Washington, DC in 2011 before entering into private practice in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2013, he joined the medical family of The Baton Rouge Clinic specializing in Endocrinology. Dr. Welden is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana.
